10 movies for a girls night

6th January 2016

I love a good girls night-in and would take one over a night out any day. Soppy movies in your PJs with your closest friends, I couldn’t think of anything better.

So, grab yourself some snacks (popcorn essential), a bottle of your favourite wine and a box of tissues; here are 10 movies to take centre stage in your next movie night!

1.The Notebook (2004)

What’s a girls night without this classic! The Notebook is just about THE description of romance, with Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams’ stunning performances throughout the movie, it’s a real tear-jerker. If you’re a bird, i’m a bird.

2. Bridesmaids (2011)

I’m that single, bitter individual who’s at that age when all your friends start getting engaged, so I love this movie. It’s a cracker that’ll have you laughing all the way through.

3. Grease (1978)

I LOVE Grease, you should see me when the Grease mega-mix comes on during a night out. The perfect movie for a sing-a-long and not to mention Danny and Sandy are the ultimate relationship goal. I mean, I  wouldn’t mind my own Danny Zuko  **insert eye-heart emoji here**.

4. Pitch Perfect (2012)

Pitch Perfect

Another sing-a-long worthy hit, Pitch Perfect is the type of movie you can re-watch a thousand times. With the catchy covers and Rebel Wilson’s witty one-liners, it’s definitely up there with the girls night classics.

5. Twilight (2008)

If you haven’t seen Twilight, you’re probably aware of the inescapable hype around it.  Vampire-meets-girl love story complete with a gripping love triangle, it’s a good’n. TEAM JACOB!!!!

Maybe go all out and have a complete Twilight Saga marathon, I would If I were you.

6. He’s Just Not That Into You (2009)

He's just not that into you

A movie based on my entire life. I. AM. GIGI.

He’s Just Not That Into You is the ultimate rom-com, if you’re anything like me you’ll be needing the tissues for this one. Based on Greg Behrendt’s book of the same title, the movie revolves around nine friends and their relationships.

7. That Awkward Moment (2014)

Stars Zac Efron, which is reason enough to watch. The movie is about a group of friends who indulge in carefree casual flings and when things start to get serious, they hide it from each other. Plus, Zac Efron.

8. 13 Going On 30 (2004)

13 going on 30

Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo have perfect chemistry in this delightful rom-com. Sickeningly heartwarming, it’s a must watch. It brings back memories of being a stubborn teenager who couldn’t wait to grow up.

9. The Lucky One (2012)

Based on novel The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks, a U.S marine finds a photograph of a young woman while serving in Iraq. Also, Zac Efron.

10. Magic Mike (2012)

Magic Mike

Topless Channing Tatum. Topless Alex Pettyfer. Need I say more?

What are your movie night go-tos?
