Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Contour Palette | Review

17th March 2016

Good evening friends! I hope everyone is having a great start to the week.

Cream contouring is something I’ve steered well clear of  up until a few months ago. The “heavy contouring” trend from the previous couple of years has been replaced by strobing and highlighting, but contour kits are still a big hit with plenty on the market.

I picked up the Ultra Cream Contour Palette by Makeup Revolution for the price of £8.00. It’s a straight up bargain for the amount of shades you get and the overall quality.

The product is presented in Makeup Revolution’s black packaging with it’s gorgeous rose gold lettering. It’s very well made and is able to stand being carried around in a bag when travelling etc.

The palette contains 4 contouring shades so there’s one to suit every skin tone. They’re very pigmented and I find a little goes a long way; you can also build them up depending on how strong of a contour you want for different looks.

As with the contour shades, it contains 4 for highlighting, including a beautiful pearly white perfect for cheekbone highlight. I vary between the yellow and the palest shades as I have a case of severe under eye baggage. I find that they work great for concealing everything and making my skin look brighter, but I do notice that as the day goes on, the product starts to crack and look flaky under my eyes.

I have found that my skin has started to break out slightly around my temples/forehead since using this palette- although this could be due to my skincare laziness.

  • £8:00 – Cheap compared to other palettes
  • Excellent dupe for Anastasia Beverley Hills
  • Easy to blend
  • Build-able
  • Pigmented
  • Strong packaging
  • Full size mirror included

  • Slight breakout since using product
  • Lighter shades start to crack slightly after several hours

So, as you can see, overall I feel Makeup Revolution’s Cream Contour Palette is worth a purchase, especially if you’re a contouring newbie/ are looking for a dupe for ABH’s kit!!

Has anyone tried this palette? What is your go-to for contouring?

See you on Sunday!

This looks really good for the money! Shame it cracks a little under the eyes! But I think I may purchase this tomo if it’s in my local Superdrug! I generally use my NYX contour kit which is powder so a little more tricky to use when I’m half asleep before work so I’ve been looking for a cheap cream contour for a few weeks! Thanks for another great post!

For the price it’s brilliant! I’m so glad NYX is finally available in the UK, I nearly cried when I went to the Boots counter for the first time haha xx
