I hate scary things. The Walking Dead frightens me and don’t even get me started on the time I watched The Ring and couldn’t sleep for 3 weeks. So it’s safe to assume that when the opportunity to attend The Escape Room in Manchester to be trapped for 60 minutes in a room with names like ‘Slaughter House’, I’d happily decline.
At the start of the week, I headed off to Chapel Street with my best friend and our mums to have a Monday night experience like no other.
It’s worth mentioning it took 20 minutes to find the venue- which isn’t hard to find at all- so you can probably already guess the outcome of the evening…
When we arrived, we were greeted by the Ledigo PR team and some much needed dutch courage in the form of rosé wine.
Opting for the easiest room (of course), we were taken to a room named ‘The Mummy’.
You’re not getting any details on the puzzles and no photos were allowed to be taken inside because that would ruin the fun of it, soz.
We were allowed a couple of hints if we got stuck, which let’s face it, was bound to happen within the first 3 seconds. Eventually, we managed to make it to the final stages of the game but time wasn’t on our side and we failed. Boo.
Even though we failed, we had THE best time and couldn’t stop cracking up for the whole hour. Even the staff on the reception could hear us laughing at ourselves.
The Escape Room is perfect for parties, hen dos or corporate events. We’re already planning on heading back in the future, possibly for my birthday which would be so much fun. I can’t wait to have a go at another room!
Prices range from £20-£16 depending on the number of players and chosen room.
Open Mon-Sun until 10:30pm
