My European City Break Wish List

I’ve gone almost 22 years without ever going on a city break. These days everyone’s jetting off to a cosmopolitan city for a weekend of shopping, sightseeing and if you’re lucky, sun.

Amsterdam is somewhere I’ve wanted to visit for years. The picturesque buildings and scenery leave me in awe every time I see a photo of the city. Visiting the Anne Frank House and the Van Gogh Museum are two things I really want to do!

Going on a gondola ride in Venice sounds like one of the most romantic things ever and I definitely want to experience it one day.

The city’s amazing culture, food and architecture puts Budapest up at the top of my wish list. Seeing the dazzling Parliament Building is a must along with tram ride to truly appreciate the historic sights.

Experiencing the wonders of Dubrovnik and it’s Old Town is something I’d like to happen sooner rather than later. Stradun is considered one of the most beautiful street in Europe and it’s easy to see why.

Last but not least is Hamburg. Being the hometown of Karl Lagerfeld, shopping is definitely on the menu with this beautiful city. A boat tour and exploring Speicherstadt are just a couple of other things I want to get up to.

Have you visited any of these places?

I’d love to do Amsterdam, too! We were going to go last year but as I still don’t have a passport, it never happened!

I’d also love to do Venice, Portugal as a whole and Iceland! Iceland for the whales and Portugal because one of my best friends is Portuguese and I’d love to see her country!

I’ve been to Amsterdam twice. When you go, I’d definitely recommend a walking tour. Sandman does them for free (just remember to tip!) And it’s great because they give you all the history of the place as you take it in.
