It’s coming up to the festive season, which is great and all, but when you’re a University student, it can be one of the most daunting times of year. It would be so easy just to cry into a tub of Heroes, but when the workload is heavy, it’s important to get the right nutrients.
I don’t know about you, but it’s 6 weeks into the academic year and already SUPER busy with upcoming deadlines.
Deadlines + Hungry = Hangry Disaster.
With the help of GoToMeeting, i’m rounding up my top ten go-to snacks for those tough times.
1. Dark Chocolate
Starting off with my favourite, any excuse to eat chocolate is a great one. Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants and has many proven health benefits.
2. Kale Chips
So LA, but Kale is a super food that’ll keep you energised for ages. It’s high iron content will keep you from slumping. Toss it in a little olive oil with some salt & pepper, bake in the oven and you’ve got a tasty snack that’ll rival even the yummiest of crisps.
3. Hard Boiled Eggs
Eggs are a source of protein, meaning you’ll stay full for longer.
4. Apples and Peanut Butter
I love this one and could eat it for every meal of every day.
Hummus is high in protein, iron and antioxidants. Team with whole grain crackers for a burst of complex carbohydrates.
6. Chocolate Banana Smoothie
Simply blend a banana with 15g cocoa powder, ice 200ml of your chosen milk and a bit of honey for extra sweetness and you have yourself a healthy-fied chocolate milkshake.
A much loved breakfast food that’s delicious at any time of the day.
8. Wholemeal Toast
Another breakfast fave, this one has loads of fibre.
Almonds are jam packed with nutrients such as Vitamin E and healthy fats.
10. Vegetable Sticks
Super simple and SUPER healthy. Maybe try them with Hummus?
So there you have it! Ten easy snacks to keep you feeling productive and boost your mood.
