I’ve proclaimed 2017 to be my year of travel and to kick things off, I spent a few days in Hamburg with my best friend.
We stayed at the 4* Mercure Hotel Hamburg City, which is ideally located just one stop away from Hauptbahnhof (Central Station).
After the 25 minute train ride from the airport, we arrived and were immediately greeted by the staff who were happy to help us with anything. Even though it was barely afternoon, we checked in and were given the key straight to our room prior to the usual 3pm check-in- which we were extremely grateful for as we had been awake since 2:30am that morning!
We stayed in a privilege room which was absolutely massive, my photos certainly don’t do it justice. I really didn’t want to leave at the end of the trip! The first thing I usually look forward to after a trip is my own shower and bed but both of these excelled my expectations. Our room had a queen-sized bed that was so so so comfy and the shower was a dream.
The free WiFi and complimentary drinks and snacks from the minibar completed our stay. I was able to keep up to date (in a fashion) with my emails over a snack of Milka and a bottle of Beck’s.
Breakfast is included in the price and consists of your traditional European Continental breakfast with an array of meats, cheeses and breads as well as a selection of bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs. You could even finish off your meal with waffles and maple syrup!
I had the best stay at the Mercure and I would definitely be back there in a heartbeat. We were treated like royalty and after exploring the delights of Hamburg, we were happy to know we were heading back to the luxury of a gorgeous hotel room.
