The New PizzaExpress Artisana Range Is The Best £2 You’ll Ever Spend

9th May 2017

Who doesn’t love PizzaExpress!? Their food is always on point and will leave you wanting more, so when they got in touch asking if I’d like to try out their new products from the Artisana range at Iceland, who was I to say no?

The Artisana range, exclusive to Iceland, features pizzas, ready meals and gelato to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. The range is the usually top-notch PizzaExpress standard at a fraction of the restaurant price. All the recipes have been carefully crafted using authentic ingredients, ensuring the food reflects the restaurant quality, freshness and flavour.

The two new additions to the much-loved range are the Chicken Baracoa Pizza and Carbonara pasta ready meal.

The Barbacoa pizza is PizzaExpress’ tradional sourdough base topped with their famous passata, creamy mozzarella, spiced chicken, peppers, red onion and finished off with a spicy chipotle salsa.

Ready within 13-15 minutes, the pizza is the perfect cheesy, doughy, spicy slice of heaven. As with all of the range, it is exceptional for a frozen pizza. Plenty of toppings, cheese and a base with just the right amount of crisp, you can’t go wrong. What’s more, at less than 400 calories per 1/2 of pizza, there’s no need to feel guilty. Heck, devour it all if you want to. No one’s judging around here. Eat the pizza, enjoy life.

Next up, the Carbonara pasta. A true Italian classic, this one’s made with pancetta in a cream, garlic and cheese sauce tossed with fettucine pasta.

I’m not being dramatic when I say this, but this ready meal is 1000000% the best damn ready meal I’ve ever tasted. Literally. If you didn’t know it was a ready meal, you wouldn’t know. The flavours are ridiculously good and definitely restaurant quality. Both my grandparents tried the pasta and said the exact same thing as me. It’s a meal in minutes that tastes like it has been freshly prepared in PizzaExpress’ kitchen and delivered by Deliveroo. The only downside is that it wasn’t very photogenic, hence the half-of-a-bowl photo above. You can’t win ’em all.

PizzaExpress have really done themselves proud with the Artisana range and I cannot wait to see what they come up with next.
