Glitter Lips By Beauty Boulevard

If you’re into beauty and/or glitter, you’ve probably heard of Glitter Lips by Beauty Boulevard. Founded in 2013 by Paula Short and Rachel de Caux, Glitter Lips is a true revolution in lip colour.

They’ve been featured on hit TV shows such as Dragon’s Den and This Morning and are available in over 700 stockists across the UK and Ireland. After launching in Topshop Oxford Street and selling out within 2 days, it was obvious this product was a big deal.

Glitter Lips is available in an array of shades, ranging from subtle nudes to striking blues and purples. In two easy steps, you can achieve the most sparkly, show-stopping lips.

The kits retail at £12.50 and include gloss bond, a pot of cosmetic grade glitter and a double-sided applicator brush.

First of all, apply the gloss to clean, dry lips and wait until the gloss is clear and has a tacky consistency.

Secondly, dip the applicator brush into the glitter and tap onto the lips- dampen the brush to help the glitter stick to the lips.

Each kit contains around 25 applications, working out at 50p per application.

I opted for one of the more neutral shades as I am used to a matte lip. I felt a shade that was more on the subtle side would be more wearable and wouldn’t be limited to festival season and Christmas or New Year. I went for the shade Diamond in the Duff which is described as a soft, delicate tone that exudes a sense of calm- and despite its subtlety, instantly brightens any look.

The kit promises to be waterproof, smudge proof and provide up to 8 hours of wear. The product didn’t budge and although I didn’t wear it for 8 hours, there was no need to reapply for the duration of the evening and still looked as good as new after a few drinks.

I did find it to be a bit drying and feel a little gritty after a while, but that is to be expected with the nature of the product.

Overall, I feel Glitter Lips are an amazing product that will be absolutely perfect throughout the festive season. I am keen to try out some of the more dramatic shades, including Ruby Slippers, a vibrant red that will definitely prove to be a head turner.

Oh wow it looks gorgeous! I had heard of these but did wonder how well they would last. It’s great that they do last the time claimed, especially through drinks. The red glitter will be fab for Christmas.

I remember the glitter lips being really popular when I was at high school. Used to do them before but haven’t done it in ages.
