Since its move to Channel 4, we all said we would boycott the show and that was the end of that, but since The Great British Bake Off graced our screens, we all just had to tune in to see if we hated it as much as we wanted to.
A few weeks later, we’re all now gripped and have decided it’s, well, not that bad.
When Bake Off is back, I always have the urge to start baking. Admittedly, I’m absolutely terrible at it- STORY TIME: In a Year 7 food lesson, we were making cheese sauce and I used custard powder instead of flour!?!!?- so I needed something fool-proof.
Introducing the Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies from the Microwave Recipes section of The Ideas Kitchen. They’re easy to make, taste delicious and chances are, you already have most of the ingredients in the cupboard already.
They were are big hit with my family and in just over half an hour, we had a batch of chocolatey, gooey brownies with a crunchy twist.
Carry on reading to find out how to create these beauties that all the family will L O V E!
175g Good-Quality Dark Chocolate
25g Cocoa Powder
3 Large Eggs
225g Light Brown Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla Essence
100g Plain Flour 3 tbsp. Crunchy Peanut Butter
Add the Chocolate, Cocoa Powder and Butter to a microwaveable bowl and cook on high for 3 minutes or until melted. Stir well and place to one side to cool.
In a separate bowl, whisk the Eggs, Sugar and Vanilla Essence for 2 minutes until light and creamy.
Add the chocolate mixture and continue to whisk until well combined.
Fold in the flour until smooth well combined.
Add mixture to a lightly greased tin (I used a square Pyrex dish). Using a teaspoon, add blobs of Crunchy Peanut Butter to the surface of the brownies. To create a marbled effect, use a sharp knife or skewer, swirl the Peanut Butter around the mixture.
Bake for 18-20 minutes on 180 degrees or until the surface is dry but the inside is still slightly gooey and fudgy.
Allow to cool in the tin and cut into squares.
So there you have it! A delicious sweet treat that’s perfect for any chocolate lover.
