Binge watch with dad

17th June 2018

Ah, Father’s Day. It is common knowledge that buying for dad is one of the hardest things to do. Trying to come up with the perfect gift can be difficult, there’s only so many years you can get away with novelty socks and a box of Milk Tray.

If you want to go out for a meal, you’re probably going to have to book at least 2 weeks in advance to even get a table, plus if you do manage to reserve one, restaurants are packed.

That’s why we’ve opted for a last-minute night in in front of the tv, complete with all the nibbles and bubbles. Whether it’s for the day for dads itself, or you’re after a gift for his birthday or just as a random act of kindness, 20th Century Fox have got your gift dilemmas sorted. The film and tv giants have an extensive collection of dvds on hand, from edge of your seat thriller boxsets to the latest action releases, there’s something dad is sure to love.

We’ve gone for boxsets and a good ol’ classic.

The Golden Globe winning anthology crime drama Fargo has a phenomenal cast including Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman. Inspired by the 1996 film directed by the Coen brothers, Year 1 is set several years after the events of the film. There’s plenty of twists and turns which makes the boxset perfect edge-of-your-set viewing.

Another one for the binge-watch list, Vikings is a journey of ancient world exploration, betrayal and power struggles. The four season show is jam packed with plot twists, searing emotions and incredible effects.

And if you don’t have time for a binge watch session, the renowned The X Files film is always going to be a winner. Based on the TV series and set between seasons 5 and 6, the film features many of the original cast and characters, with the plot focusing on extraterrestrials and government conspiracy. You’re sure to be in a Wikipedia black hole after this one!

What a wonderful idea. I’m sure most dads are grateful for their socks or chocolates but this is great and something that will keep him occupied for quite some time as well. Your dad is very lucky ! I’m sure he’s going to have a great time.
