The reopening of Slug & Lettuce, Spinningfields

12th December 2018

Spinningfields. Manchester’s ultimate destination for luxury dining and shopping. It is my dream that one day I will be able to afford to regularly spend my time here.

That was before I knew there was a Slug & Lettuce here. The stylish bar is one of my favourite places to dine and drink, with an extensive menu of delicious food and drink, with many of the contemporary cocktails being 2 for 1 all day, every day- meaning you can enjoy after work drinks or a night out with friends without spending a small fortune.

Recently closing for a few weeks while undergoing a refurbishment after a £250,000 investment, a VIP night took place last week to showcase the new look while enjoying a prosecco reception and a few cocktails.

Straight away the venue felt completely different from the Deansgate and Piccadilly branches which I have previously visited.

With its birdcage seating, pink and purple hues and flashes of gold, the luxurious decor is any Instagrammer’s dream. The VIP cocktail class area allows guests to test out their mixology skills and is perfect for any celebration.

Speaking to the venues manager, JP, I learnt that the Gordon’s Pink Spritz- Gordon’s Pink Gin served with lemonade and topped with prosecco- has now overtaken the classic Pornstar Martini as the most popular drink on the menu.

Another popular drink on the menu which is absolutely perfect for the festive season is the Glitter Candy Fizz. Licor 43 is mixed with prosecco and topped with candy floss and edible glitter. Pair this one with the backdrop of the birdcage and you’ve got yourself the perfect Insta snap…just remember to remove the bobble off your wrist beforehand, unlike me!

The riverside location makes Slug & Lettuce the ideal Summer hotspot and the gorgeous outdoor terrace has me dreaming of warm Summer nights with a cocktail in hand.

Year-round, Slug & Lettuce Spinningfields has it all and is sure to be your regular haunt, whether it’s an office party, birthday celebrations…or just because it’s a Wednesday and you can.
