I love Friends, I really do. I remember watching the last ever episode. I was 9 and me and my mum watched it together, I think it was a Friday night and I probably cried.
I still love watching the reruns on Comedy Central and don’t even get me started on when we went to the Friends apartment in New York City.
So when it was announced that a Friends musical was coming to the UK, I got rather excited and tagged half of my friends (lol) list on Facebook.
Marking 25 years since the show first aired, Friendsical is a parody musical based on the iconic television show.
When Ross’ wife leaves him for another woman, he fears he will never find love again. But then Rachel runs back into his life… will he end up with his one true love?
Featuring original songs such as ‘(He’s her) Lobster!’, ‘Richard’s Moustache’ and ‘You’re Over Me? When Were You Under Me?’, the musical is written by Miranda Larson and produced by Birdbrooke Entertainment Ltd.
The lovable musical, which has been named Broadway World’s programme pick, will embark on a national tour beginning on 15 July at The Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham. In addition to visits in Darlington, Derry, Newcastle, Kingston, Malvern, Blackpool, Chelmsford, Southampton and Croydon, Friendsical will also have a full run at the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival from 1-25 August.
Casting for the much-anticipated show is set to be released later this month, seeing some of the best names in theatre take on the iconic roles of the six friends.
